The Vault
One rolling jackpot for the whole game. Every league feeds it, every round it survives it grows, and any league's crazy call can crack it. Crack it and the whole pot is yours.
The pot stands at
300.0
Freshly seeded at 300.
How you crack it
In a settled round, one of your predictions has to clear both bars:
- You were the only player on the exact final score of that match. Not one of a few. The only one.
- The result itself was a shock: fewer than 15 percent of the players on that match called the correct outcome.
One more thing, stated plainly: a match needs at least 20 players on it before it can crack the Vault. Small fields make lone calls cheap, and the Vault doesn't pay for cheap.
Both conditions use the picks frozen at lock, so the outcome is auditable and nothing changes after the fact. Postponed, cancelled and voided matches can't crack it.
How it grows, and what happens when it cracks
- Starts at 300 points.
- Every round it survives, in any league: 50 points, plus 25 percent of every banker that died that round. When a banker wipes a player's points, a cut of the wreckage goes into the Vault.
- Capped at 1000. It can sit there as long as it likes.
- Cracked: the cracker gets the pot as it stood when the round kicked off, added to their round, month and season totals in the league where they cracked it. If two players crack it in the same round (necessarily on different matches), each gets the full pot.
- Then it resets to 300, immediately. The cracked round contributes nothing on its way out: no 50, no banker deposits. The next surviving round starts the climb again from 300.
Crack history
Nobody has cracked it yet. The pot remembers.
