The rules
This is the technical version. If you want the friendly tour, read how it works first. When the two disagree, this page wins.
Accounts
One account per person. Playing with more than one account, for any reason, gets every account involved removed. That includes accounts made to farm referral points, stack a mini-league or vote twice on a ballot.
Usernames can be changed once every 90 days. Your profile shows your previous name for the rest of the season after a change; your prediction history is public, and a rename doesn't reset it.
Your country is chosen at signup and stays editable until your first prediction locks. After that it's fixed, because country decides which national table you compete in. Picked the wrong one by mistake? Ask an admin.
Predictions and locks
Every match locks 5 minutes before kickoff, measured in UTC on our servers. Your device's clock has no say. Until the lock you can change any prediction freely; after it, nothing moves.
Predictions are private until their match locks, then public. Anyone can read your locked picks and lifetime history on your profile. Nobody, including us through any page or endpoint, can see an unlocked pick that isn't theirs.
A match with no prediction scores 0. There is no partial credit for a missing pick.
Scoring, exactly
Base points per match, each earned independently, added together:
- Correct outcome (home win, draw, away win): 20
- Correct goal difference: 10
- Exact home goals: 10
- Exact away goals: 10
- Exact score bonus: 10
Base maximum 60. Then, in this order: the base is multiplied by the match's K (between 1.00 and 2.50, frozen when the round opens, see the K stamp). If your exact score is right, rarity is added: 40 × (1 − share), where share is the fraction of players who picked the same scoreline, frozen at the match's lock. Then the special: on the Match of the round every player is hit-or-miss under the banker rule, doubled on a hit, zeroed on a miss. Last, your own banker: a hit doubles the total, a miss scores 0, wiping any partial points. A banker hit means correct outcome plus at least one team's exact goal count.
A banker can never sit on a special match, so no match ever pays more than double. Totals are rounded to one decimal.
The banker budget
10 bankers per calendar month, at most one per round. Unused bankers don't roll over. The month is the month of the banker match's kickoff, UTC. If a banker match ends postponed, cancelled or void, the banker is refunded.
Extras
Each round carries bonus questions: over or under 2.5 in a chosen match, both teams to score, total goals across the round, the highest-scoring match. Flat points each, no K, no banker, no rarity; the number of questions and their points scale with the round so extras never exceed 15 percent of the round's maximum base points. They lock with the round's first kickoff, settle automatically from final scores, and a question whose match doesn't finish is void: nobody scores it. The total-goals question doubles as the round tiebreaker; the answer closest to the real total wins the tie.
The Vault
One rolling jackpot for the whole game; every league feeds the same pot. It cracks when, in a settled round, a player was alone on the correct exact score of a match that fewer than 15 percent of its predictors called right on outcome, with at least 20 players on the match. It seeds at 300, grows 50 per surviving round in any league plus 25 percent of every wiped banker, and caps at 1000. Cracked, it pays the cracker the pot as it stood entering the round, into that league's standings, then resets to 300; the cracked round itself adds nothing. Full rules and history on the Vault page.
Bonus points
Referrals pay twice, once per friend for life: 50 points when someone signs up through your link with a confirmed email, another 100 once they've had 20 predictions scored. Both land in your season standings, in one league you pick in settings (your most played by default). Your link lives in settings.
Now and then there are also limited-time bonuses, like points for starting a mini-league during a promo window. Every bonus is announced up front, recorded in a ledger, and shown in your point history. Farming bonuses with fake accounts gets the points removed and the accounts with them.
Results and data
Scores come from our data provider and are final. We re-check results about 2 hours after full time; if a result was corrected, we re-settle the match and recompute the standings.
Postponed, cancelled and void matches score 0 for everyone and drop out of the round's maximum. A match abandoned mid-game and not finished within 24 hours is voided unless an admin rules otherwise.
Tiebreakers
Equal points are split, in order, by:
- More exact scores
- More correct outcomes
- Highest single-match total
- The round's tiebreaker question (round tables only)
- Earlier registration date
The last rule makes every rank unique. Signing up early pays, forever.
The forum
New threads wait for admin approval before going public. Replies don't. Admins can pin, lock and delete. Keep it football; the usual lines apply: no abuse, no spam, no advertising.
Cheating
No bots, no scripts, no scraping other players' picks into your own account, no coordinated accounts, no referral farming, no ballot stuffing. We store enough to notice.
Penalties scale from removed points to removed accounts, decided by the admins. During the beta these decisions are final. The beta has no prizes; the final version will, and today's bans carry over.
Worked examples and an interactive calculator live on how it works. The banker has its own page, and so does the K stamp.
